The position is responsible for providing technical and architectural expertise to the firm’s portfolio of greenfield, renovation and up fit projects. The role demands a project architect with experience managing projects at all phases: design development, bidding and contract development, construction phase and follow up to the completion. This position must be committed to high quality design and personalized client service and must manage projects in a cost effective manner. As a project architect, this person will need to effectively communicate and manage relationships with clients, suppliers, contractors, vendors, engineers and other municipal representatives in order to achieve established goals for a project. This person needs to have demonstrated the capability to drive all necessary project activities to completion. Technical competence and well developed project management skills are critical. Additionally, demonstration of design ability is also a must.

Relationship management, problem-solving, discernment, communication, architectural excellence, decision making and collaboration are key skills and abilities needed for this role.

Duties and Key Skills will include:

• Taking responsibility for leading and managing projects from concept design stage, through to Construction Documentation.

• Leading efforts at all stages of project for quality of documentation as well as construction administration

• A sound understanding of building technologies in order to be able to liaison with structural engineers, MEP engineers a well as vendors and technical consultants.

• Managing workload, schedules and deliverables for team as well as tracking invoicing and financial health of projects.

• Knowledge of technical standards, regulatory frameworks and relevant building codes.

• Directing and managing other supporting staff in the delegation of work to allow the provision of assistance on projects as necessary

• Supporting the Practice in the development of new and existing client relationships.

• Good organisational skills & ability to work under own initiative

• Strong background in AutoCAD

• Knowledge of REVIT is a plus.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organizational skills

• Must be willing to handle some amounts of administrative duties.

• Must be willing to travel
