Architectural BIM Engineer

The Architectural BIM Engineer will be a full-time modeler, knowledgeable in the Autodesk suite of products (specifically Revit), Sketchup, and rendering softwares such as Lumion or 3DSMax. The Architectural BIM Engineer will have formal training in Architecture with responsibility for model creation based on 2-D inputs. The candidate must have a strong working knowledge of construction systems.  

Responsibilities: 

• Work in a team environment to create detailed 3-D models for architectural, civil and structural building systems such as façade, foundations etc.
• Interpret preliminary 2-D design documents to produce models, renderings, images, animations etc. to support the core goals and challenges of the sales pursuit, site safety, and preconstruction planning. Effectively communicate with project team for resolving any conflicts in interpretation.
• Develop and utilize models developed by others for Building System special studies (envelope, footings etc.)
• Communicate effectively with project teams to understand construction methodologies which will be incorporated into site logistics models and phased renderings.
• Integrate external database such as project schedule and building information models for analysis of construction activities. Develop 4-D simulation which clearly conveys the construction sequencing.

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
• Seasoned BIM professional with minimum 5 years’ experience in BIM modeling for design and / or construction
• Must have strong understanding of major building systems
• Should be proficient with BIM based computer applications such as Trimble SketchUp and Autodesk Revit. Additional proficiency in other BIM based computer applications such as Rhino, Navisworks Manage, Adobe Suite, and AutoCAD is preferred.
• Experience in the creation of high-quality renders in software such as 3DSMax or Lumion.
• The BIM Engineer will need to exhibit:
• Understanding of design and construction process and model coordination.
• Strong understanding of building types, systems and means and methods.
• Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong problem solving / troubleshooting skill
