Job Description:

• Perform engineering duties in planning, designing, and overseeing construction and maintenance of building structures, and facilities, such as roads, railroads, airports, bridges, channels, dams, irrigation projects, pipelines, power plants, and water and sewage systems. 
• Structural engineers design structures to withstand stresses and pressures imposed through environmental conditions and human use. They also examine existing buildings and structures to test if they are structurally sound and still fit for purpose. 
• Working in close partnership with architects and other professional engineers they help to design most structures, including houses, hospitals, office blocks, bridges, oil rigs, ships and aircraft. It is the structural engineers responsibility to choose the appropriate materials, such as concrete, steel, timber and masonry, to meet design specifications and they are often involved in inspecting the work and advising contractors. 

• Analyse configurations of the basic structural components of a building or other structure;
• Calculate the pressures, stresses and strains that each component, such as a beam or lintel, will experience from other parts of the structure due to human use or environmental pressures such as weather or earthquakes;
• Consider the strength of various materials, e.g. timber, concrete, steel and brick, to see how their inclusion may necessitate a change of structural design;
• Liaise with other designers, including architects, to agree on safe designs and their fit with the aesthetic concept of the construction;
• Examine structures at risk of collapse and advising how to improve their structural integrity, such as recommending removal or repair of defective parts or rebuilding the entire structure;
• Make drawings, specifications and computer models of structures for building contractors;
• Work with geotechnical engineers to investigate ground conditions and analyse results of soil sample and in-situ tests;
• Liaise with construction contractors to ensure that newly erected buildings are structurally sound;
• Use computers and computer-aided design (CAD) technology for simulation purposes.Work Experience: 

• The candidate should have tendered 5 years intensified designing experience after possession of Post-Graduation degree in (Structures) in a reputed civil design organization and should capable & designing various civil structures. 
• Must have previous experience leading the delivery of work packages on large scale road construction, bulk earthworks and civil construction projects 
• Provide structural engineering technical input and advice for the design and documentation phases of buildings structures projects Assist with ensuring plant, equipment, human resources and subcontractors are utilised efficiently and effectively to maximise productivity and achieve successful completion of projects within budget and time allocation, Delivering projects across various types of structures (concrete / steel / timber) within the residential / commercial / industrial / institutional sectors.
