Engineer - Design | Schneider Electric | Bangalore

Roles & Responsibilities:


•       Responsible for successful deliverables of design solution to the partners

•       Responsible for product concept and detail part/ sub-assembly drawings/ Models, V&V of the electro-mechanical products.

•       Understand the installation and user habits of the equipment

•       Provide Plastic, Sheet metal, Machined parts, engineering prototype solution to the partners based on the need of the project/partners.

•       Provide detailing of Project/Design Specification ,GD &T ,Verification & Validation plan, etc

•       Support DFMEA, Design Reviews along with Project Team members

•       Compliance on IEC/ European standards, REACH, RoHS etc on the respective projects

•       Compliance on OCP, PMP, PEP and any related process of Schneider Electric

•       Construct and oversee contractors or junior designers in construction of developed systems

•       Interfaces with outside vendors for component selection, manufacturing, and assembly

•       Interfaces with global team, plant and cross functions

•       Confer with system engineers and other personnel to implement operating procedures

•       Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs or applications.

•       Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.

Skills:

•       Strong verbal and written communication skills

•       Self motivated and highly organized

•       Knowledge of Sheetmetal designs, Plastic parts, Manufacturing technologies

•       Know how of Engineering Change Management process.

•       Good understanding of Basic Mechanical design parameter such as Dimensioning, tolerance, and material characteristics/ properties.

•       Excellent problem solving and time management skills

•       Ability to understand various Standards and Incorporate Standards requirement in the design

•       Hands on experience on Tolerance analysis, GD&T ,Value Engineering /Analysis knowledge(Good to have)

•       Should be able to work in Cross functional environment

•       Good mechanical aptitude and knowledge

•       Knowledge of electrical / electronic devices in low voltage

•       Proficient in 3D CAD modeling (ProE / Creo Elements preferred)
