Job Description:

1. Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine the specifications of the project
2. Negotiate contracts with external vendors to reach profitable agreements
3. Obtain permits ad licences from appropriate authorities
4. Determine needed resources (manpower, equipment, materials) from start to finish with attention to budgetary limitations
5. Plan all construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to ensure deadlines will be met
6. Acquire equipment and material and monitor stocks to timely handle inadequencies
7. Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities
8. Supervise the work of engineers, labour, contractors, etc and give them guidance when needed
9. Evaluate progress and prepare detailed reports
10. Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues
11. Maintain good reporting structures and systems to keep management suitably informed
12. Set-up good construction practices and systems, and maintain good existing systems
13. Proven experience as construction project manager
14. In-depth understanding of construction procedures, materials and project management principles and tools
15. Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards
16. Good knowledge of MS Office
17. Familiarity with construction/project management software
18. Outstanding communication and negotiation skills
19. Excellent organisational and time-management skills
20. A team player with leadership abilities
21. BSc/BA in engineering, building science or relevant field
22. Any training or specialised education in a related construction/project management field will be an added bonus
23. Ability to set up good construction practices learned through past experience/knowledge
24. Dedication towards work
