Job Description: 
  • Procurement of material as per site requirement and specifications at competitive rates and within stipulated time with reference to indents and budget. 
  • Assisting Materials Manager in Vendor Development and Vendor Evaluation 
  • Ensure ISO and ERP, SAP systems implementation/compliance in his domain
  • Key Activities 
  • Receiving and scrutinizing indents and getting clarifications where ever required (current practice of taking approval of indents to be discontinued after streamlining the system of approval). 
  • Allocation of excess material available site for transfer and inform wherever applicable. 
  • Floating inquiry to registered vendor. 
  • Incase material not available with registered vendor, identifying new vendor / source Making comparative statement and getting approved. 
  • Placing Purchase order and ensuring the timely delivery of material at site.
  • Incase of delays keeping the concerned personnels informed and take corrective actions as instructed. Identifying new vendors. 
  • Evaluating for capacity, quality of material and rates, filling vendor-checking form as per ISO procedure. 
  • Placing trial order and filling vendor registration. 
  • Data base updation.
  • Maintaining files and documents like procedures, vendor list, vendor evaluation and purchase orders. 
  • Preparing reports like monthly purchase report and system vendor evaluation report etc. 
  • Checking closing stock statement prepared by site storekeepers. 
  • Follow up with storekeepers to regularize submissions by site.
