Job description:

As a Site Specialist, you will be a part of the Grid Integration Business Unit, within the Power Grids Division, based at Bangalore. The competitive energy market requires innovative and reliable solutions for effective integration of power from conventional and renewable generation plants, and efficient transmission and distribution to residential, commercial and industrial consumers. Tasks

As a Site Specialist, your main accountabilities are:

Coordinate and support site-works team in cost-effective execution of site civil works related deliverables in accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, schedule, and safety requirements. Provide technical support for all site civil works related issues to proposal team during bid preparation and to the Project Manager at the project start up.

Planning & Scheduling


Assisting team leader PM & Site in preparing the construction schedule.
Taking lead in identifying sub-contractor for execution of civil work at critical sites.
Prepares the project construction plan in consultation with Team leader, PM to execute civil work within budget.

Civil Execution

Monitors the construction activities at critical/complex sites.
Assisting the team leader PM & site in preparation of contractual claim management towards customer.
Support the Team Leader, PM in settling claims of sub-contractors.
Developing agencies/sub-vendors in executing specialized civil work at site.

Material planning: Supports the SCM team for bulk requirement of cement & steel for critical sites.

Change Management: Informing Team Leader PM for any change/increase in scope of civil work.

Documentation: Issues all site civil works documentation required for use in award and execution of the subcontract(s). Controls installation and commissioning related documentation accuracy and consistency in line with the contract and procedures agreed with the customer.

Subcontractor coordination Assist the Site Manager or Construction Site Manager in coordinating activities between external resources and the customer. Ensures external resources are fully informed on site works planning activities, product knowledge, and safety procedures.

Guidance & Coaching: Provide guidance & coaching to the team in achieving the deliverable & meeting the customer requirement.

Requirements

Your Diploma / Graduation in Civil Engineering with 7+ years of experience in substations business with civil / construction knowledge will be an ideal fit.
