Job Description:

• Taking the Plumbing & Sanitary conceptual design through to implementation and handover;
• Progressing all elements of design in-line with the Plumbing & Sanitary Design Checklist;
• Supporting Sr. Engineers in terms of Preparation of Plumbing & Sanitary system tender specifications and ensuring these align with contractual obligations;
• Mentoring of Plumbing & Sanitary Jr. Engineer / CAD with the intent of securing properly trained personnel for the continual expansion of the company;
• Ensuring the System Supervisor is provided with the current shop and space management drawings, specifications, approved technical submissions and all approved changes in scope;
• Ensuring the System Supervisor is fully briefed on the awarded scope of work, the tender technical documents and all contractual revisions to tender documentation;
• Evaluating technical submittals for specification and client requirement compliance for Plumbing & Sanitary system.
• Preparation of BVOA for major equipment as per Clients requirement.
• Approving Test Packs at each step of construction through to completion;
• Forwarding Testing and Commission pass criteria to the System Supervisor;
• Evaluating progress claims against work complete;
• Evaluating contractor variation quantity claimed is accurate.
• Preparation of As Built documentation including O&M Manual in consultation with Sr. Engineer
• Review and understand the RFP and provide proposal support (draft scope/ assumption/ exclusion doc)

Type of Expertise:

• Technically competent in Plumbing & Sanitary System design and equipment selection.
• Able to do Water demand calculation, Sewerage Drainage system design, Process drain piping design, External Process & Sewerage drain network piping design, prepare drawings & models, design basis documentation and technical reports.
• Auto CAD / REVIT proficiency
• Familiar in preparation of P&ID drawings, Layout drawings etc.
• Familiar in Raw Water Storage tank capacity calculation & sizing, STP tank capacity & sizing, Internal Sanitary & Water Piping design, Strom & Roof Water Storage design and Pumping System design etc.
