Overseas opening Protection Engineer with WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff in the Middle East | Sultanate of Oman

WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff is looking to recruit a number of Electrical Engineers to join our power distribution project in Oman. WSP | Parsons Brinckerhoff are providing consultancy services for Project Management including reviewing, designing, monitoring and supervising the construction of a range of power distribution works across MZEC areas.

We would like to hear from degree qualified Electrical Engineers with minimum 8 + years of experience in Project Management of Power distribution works.

Requirements

Bachelor degree of Engineering in Electrical

Should have minimum 8 yrs. experience in protection activates related to equipment of Grid sub-stations, primary In/Door and Out/Door SS and 3 years in other distribution network. 

Responsibilities:

As below but not limited to the following:     

• Perform relay setting calculation for existing and new devices.
• Revise protection scheme on regular basis and when required.
• Testing and commissioning of all protection equipment's and instruments such as Relay, CT, VTetc. Fault analysis & trouble shooting.
• Perform all necessary tests and commissioning for all new/replaced/mal-operation of the followings: protection relays, CT, VT, power transformer, capacitor bank, auto-recloser, battery chargers, switchgears ...etc.
• Prepare and update electrical drawings when required.
• Participate in system disturbance analysis and investigation committees to analyze the case during any disturbances and provide inputs to related incidents reports when required.
• Change relay setting as requested by MZEC protection engineer. All required laptop, cables and software and its update should be provided by the contractor without claiming MZEC for any additional cost.
•  Provide technical consultation & support to operation & maintenance departments and other departments when required by Technical Service Manager.
• Provide protection overview training to new electrical engineers joining MZEC.
• Carry on troubleshooting& raise technical report 
• Investigation of tripping incidents.
