Job Description: 

• Responsible for project scope definition, siting studies etc. to meet business/ manufacturing requirements.

• Responsible for execution of capital projects, starting from pre-project to construction and start-up.

• Lead and supervise engineering team to prepare FEED/FEL.

• Prepare budget or AR funding estimate.

• Prepare and monitor project schedule.

• Support BU’s in AR preparation and approval.

• Selection of engineering contractors for detail engineering.

• Organize and direct engineering projects.

• Ensure project is designed in accordance with all applicable codes and standards, including AkzoNobel’s.

• Assures that all necessary permits are obtained.

• Project cost monitoring and control.

• Project Risk Assessment and Management.

• Report project progress to management.

• Selection and management of construction contractors and construction staff.

• Maintain safety at construction sites, following AkzoNobel policies.

 Qualifications 

• A bachelors or master’s degree in Chemical or Mechanical engineering

• 10-15 years related experience in engineering or manufacturing environment

• Extensive (project, people) management capabilities;

• Strong strategic and conceptual skills with ability to execute and follow through;

• Ability to drive continuous improvement of the processes, policies, standards;

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, entrepreneurship, result oriented, negotiation,         problem solving, content experience;

• Very good verbal and written English language skills
